King Valley

King Valley includes the townships of Cheshunt, Myrrhee, Edi and Edi Upper, Moyhu, Whitlands and Whitfield. Steeped in rich Italian heritage the King Valley plays home to many Prosecco producing wineries and their makers, positioning it as the perfect home for any food or wine lover!

The King Valley is home to many cellar doors offering generous hospitality, warming foods and innovative wins. Dal Zotto, Christmont, Pizzini and Politini Wines offer some of Australia’s best wines while King River Brewing offers fresh local brews.

The district hosts unique and fun events each year including La Dolce Vita Festival, the spectacular King Valley Balloon Festival, the King Valley Art Show and the King Valley Multisport Challenge.

Mt Cobbler and the Wabonga Plateau are part of the Alpine National Park and offer cascading waterfalls, wildflowers and breath taking vantage points. Lake William Hovell and the King River offer fishing, paddling, swimming and picnicking options.

Schooling

The district offers four primary schools in the townships of Moyhu, Edi Upper, Whitfield and Myrrhee. There is also a kindergarten which runs programs for 3 and 4 year olds, along with an occasional care program. Bus services are available for secondary school children to and from Wangaratta's private and public High Schools. 

Facilities

A number of recreation reserves with BBQ and playgrounds; tennis courts, a BMX track, lawn bowls and secret swimming holes will keep the family entertained. Local produce and general stores and cafes are dotted throughout the district, allowing you to buy homemade and fresh food direct from the source.
